To celebrate our 45th Reunion, we are planning a weekend of celebration, May 31-June 3, 2007, during the University’s annual Alumni Weekend. Mark your calendars, confirm your travel arrangements, and register now. See who else is planning to attend.
Get ready for the festivities:
Class of 1962 Reunion Dinner

Gordon Center for Integrative Sciences Atrium, Corner of 57th and Drexel
Our elegant class dinner at the Gordon Center for Integrative Sciences will begin with a reception in the new science quadrangle. The ticket price ($60 per person in advance, $70 at the door) includes appetizers, dinner, drinks, and dessert. Following the reception, we’ll take our class photo. Professors Bob Ashenhurst and Jamie Redfield and their wives will be our dinner guests. Afterwards, you are invited to Judith Stein’s apartment, five blocks from campus, for continued conversation and beverages (a shuttle will be provided from the dinner).

Picnic and Reunion Class Awards

Faculty Revels
Saturday, June 2, 6:00 p.m.
Cabaret style at Quadrangle Club Bar, 1155 East 57th Street
After the campus-wide festivities, our class is sponsoring a Sampler of the Revels. Our “Reduced Revels” will take place in the Game Room of the Quadrangle Club (cash bar available). Our classmates can then join us at a Greek or Italian restaurant, or attend the ChicaGO Party on campus.
ChicaGO Party
Saturday, June 2, 7:00 p.m.-midnight
Ratner Athletics Center
This annual gala features a variety of dinner options, drinks, and live music. Those attending the Interfraternity Sing or having dinner elsewhere can come after 9:30 p.m. at a reduced price for dessert, drinks, and dancing until midnight.
Class of 1962 Breakfast & Special Chicago Architectural Tour
Sunday, June 3, 10:00 a.m. …
Starts at Debby Strauss’s Hyde Park Home
Start your morning with a continental breakfast at the home of Debby Strauss. Professor and former Dean, Don Levine, and his wife will be our guests. Then take our shuttle downtown to the Chicago Architectural Foundation for a private, three-hour guided bus tour of architectural highlights of Chicago neighborhoods, featuring those communities that have been undergoing a renaissance—the mid and near south, near west, and near north sides. We will end with a look at some noteworthy buildings in the Loop; this will involve a small amount of walking. After the tour, some of us will be happy to guide you through the fabulous Millennium Park. For those who are still energetic, we will rejoin for dinner at an ethnic restaurant.
Encourage participation:
- Make a gift to the College Fund in honor of your 45th reunion. Your participation supports the traditions and rigorous liberal education of the College.
- Get in touch with friends, and make sure they’re coming back as well. If you’ve lost contact with someone, check out the online directory and send e-cards to boost attendance.
- Our reunion committee can use your
ideas and energy. It won’t take much time, and you don’t need to live in Chicago—most
planning is done by e-mail and conference call. Contact the Alumni Office
at alumniweekend@uchicago.edu or
800/955-0065 if you would like to help.
Stay connected:
- Even if you aren’t sure you can join us in June, we still want to know what’s been going on in your life. Your class co-correspondents, Judith Stein and Mike Einisman, are always looking for news for the class column. Send them your updates. Read the class column throughout the year.
- The University doesn’t have contact information for a few of your classmates, and we need your help to find them. We want to make sure everyone knows about the reunion.
