To celebrate our 40th Reunion, we are planning a weekend of celebration, May 31-June 3, 2007, during the University’s annual Alumni Weekend. Mark your calendars, confirm your travel arrangements, and register now. See who else is planning to attend.
Submit a Class Memory Book Page:
Tell us about yourself: where you have been, family updates, travel news, career benchmarks, favorite University of Chicago memories. Just write it out on a one-page document and send it to us via Eric Horner by May 24, and we’ll include it in a packet at Alumni Weekend. Even if you cannot attend Reunion, it is a great way to let everyone know what you have been up to. Pictures encouraged!
Get ready for the festivities:
Informal Get-Together
Thursday, May 31, 6:00 p.m.

“Remembering the ’60s Now That We Are in Our 60s”
Friday, June 1, 1:30–4:15 p.m.
Alumni Discussion Panel during the UnCommon Core
The ’60s were years of protest and experimentation at University of Chicago and in society. The Class of 1967 is convening a panel to look at that time, what it meant then and how we think about it now, with a focus on the sit-in of ’66 against the Rank (and the war in Vietnam). Participants will include: 1967 classmates Lynn Vogel, who was an opponent of that sit-in; Tom Heagy, Student Government President (conservative party/Gnosis); and others who were at the University in those years: Jeff Blum, Student Government President (progressive party/SPAC); Jackie Goldberg, graduate student and leader in the sit-in; Dick Flacks, sociology professor and supporter of the student protests; and moderated by classmate Heather (Tobis) Booth, activist in those years, Chair of SPAC. Whatever your feelings were then, they inevitably shaped who you are now, and you will not want to miss this communal reflection.

Encourage participation:
- Make a gift to the College Fund in honor of your 40th reunion. Your participation supports the traditions and rigorous liberal education of the College.
- Get in touch with friends, and make sure they’re coming back as well. If you’ve lost contact with someone, check out the online directory and send e-cards to boost attendance.
- Our reunion committee can use your ideas and energy. It won’t take much time, and you don’t need to live in Chicago—most planning is done by e-mail and conference call. Contact the Alumni Office at alumniweekend@uchicago.edu or 800/955-0065 if you would like to help.
Stay connected:
- Send in your news to your class
correspondent. Watch the class
column for updates on reunion throughout the year.
- The University doesn’t have contact information for a few of your classmates, and we need your help to find them. We want to make sure everyone knows about the reunion.
