To celebrate our 35th Reunion, we are planning a weekend of celebration, May 31-June 3, 2007, during the University’s annual Alumni Weekend. Mark your calendars, confirm your travel arrangements, and register now. See who else is planning to attend.
Get ready for the festivities:
Alumni Discussion Panel on the ’60s
Friday, June 1, 3:00–4:15 p.m., UnCommon Core session
The Class of 1967 has invited our class to a special Alumni Discussion Panel, looking back at the climate on campus in the 1960s from both sides—you will not want to miss this. (See the Class of 1967 Web page for details.)
Class of 1972 Reunion Celebration
Friday, June 1, 6:30–10:30 p.m.
La Petite Folie, 1504 East 55th Street
The cost of the evening ($50 per person in advance; $60 at the door) covers dinner, drinks, and dessert. Shuttle service will be provided from campus and from the Marriott Residence Inn and Club Quarters. After dinner, you are all welcome to an informal cocktail reception at the Shapiros’ home in Hyde Park!
Class of 1972 Memory Book
Please contribute to our memory book by clicking on the link in the title above. We are collecting your memories and life updates to share with everyone, even if you cannot attend Reunion. We can also accept your digital photos. E-mail photos (with captions) and any questions to Eric Horner at Alumni House at ehorner@uchicago.edu.
Alumni Procession and Convocation
Saturday, June 2, 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
After breakfast at Bartlett Dining Commons, we’ll march with our banner through the Quads to Rockefeller Chapel for the Alumni Convocation.
Picnic and Reunion Class Awards
Saturday, June 2, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Ratner Athletics Center
Revel in Chicago spirit at our family-friendly picnic. We’ll celebrate the achievements of the College Reunion classes. Look for the tables reserved for our class at this festive lunch with President Zimmer and alumni from across the University.
ChicaGO Party
Saturday, June 2, 7:00 p.m.-midnight
Ratner Athletics Center
This annual gala features a variety of dinner options, drinks, and live music. Those attending the Interfraternity Sing or having dinner elsewhere can come after 9:30 p.m. at a reduced price for dessert, drinks, and dancing until midnight.
Encourage participation:
- Make a gift to the College Fund in honor of your 35th reunion. Your participation supports the traditions and rigorous liberal education of the College.
- Get in touch with friends, and make sure they’re coming back as well. If you’ve lost contact with someone, check out the online directory and send e-cards to boost attendance.
- Our reunion committee can use your ideas and energy. It won’t take much time, and you don’t need to live in Chicago—most planning is done by e-mail and conference call. Contact the Alumni Office at alumniweekend@uchicago.edu or 800/955-0065 if you would like to help.
Stay connected:
- Send in your news to your class
correspondent. Watch the class
column for updates on reunion throughout the year.
- The University doesn’t have contact information for a few of your classmates, and we need your help to find them. We want to make sure everyone knows about the reunion.
