Class gift campaign: Empowering today’s students and tomorrow’s alumni

Celebrating your milestone class reunion is also a unique chance to support one of the College’s great strengths: its students. Reunion gifts are a powerful way for alumni to make a collective impact in the lives of current and future students by supporting the College through philanthropy. This year, we are asking reunion volunteers to focus their fundraising efforts on the College’s top priority: undergraduate financial aid.

The University of Chicago is committed to ensuring that students from every background, regardless of financial circumstances, can access a world-class education. This commitment enables UChicago to enroll talented students from around the world, helps create a student body enriched by individuals with different perspectives who can contribute to an environment of rigorous debate and inquiry, and empowers students to graduate with little to no debt, ensuring that they are free to pursue meaningful career paths and maximize their impact in the world.

Robust financial aid is vital to ensuring the wide range of experiences and perspectives that invigorate UChicago’s unique intellectual community. Conversations about the world’s most pressing challenges, from cancer to criminal justice reform to climate change, are deeper and more productive when they reflect a broad spectrum of human experience.

Alumni giving makes a difference

Every year, reunion class gifts help to expand access to a College education for more students, enrich the intellectual journeys of those students during their time on the quads, and equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to become leaders and innovators in their communities, all around the world.

Supporting financial aid is one of many ways that alumni can make an impact for students in the College. From research funding to study abroad programs to athletics to theater—opportunities abound. Your reunion is about celebrating the experiences and relationships that made your time in the College so transformative. Make a gift and help ensure that future students have access to the same opportunities—and more.
